A great session, fantastic model, good location, excellent instruction, from a very knowledgeable instructor. I took away from the afternoon, some great images, a significant amount of experience, and a level of confidence I didn't have before.

Fantastic session with Dave. He quickly realised I was not an absolute beginner, and that I understood the Inverse Square Law, so this was not about basic lighting. My goal was to take my "dramatic" photography up a notch. Well worth it. Dave is a master of his craft, and the session went by in a heartbeat. I learned a lot, and I have won international awards for my photography, with highly prestigeous groups, and been published. Yet, there is always room for improvement. Why do the top professional golfers, tennis players, etc all have mentors and coaches? Dave read me well, and pitched the session for my level of experience, absolutely perfectly. If you are looking to improve, get in touch with Dave, I am confident you wil not regret it.

I attended one of Dave's Lighting Workshops.

He puts a lot of effort into setting up the spaces beforehand, so that the time spent photographing is maximised. I found him to be very clear in explaining what we were going to do. The session was well organised but also had space for me to try things out. I've got some great shots out of it, and have a better understanding of how I can light a model.

These are methods I will use in my own photography going forward. I thoroughly recommend these workshops, and I would attend again.

I have been on a couple of lighting courses before this one and I must say I got more out of Dave’s course than the other two put together.

Dave had different areas completely setup prior to arrival. Upon arrival we were told what was definitely planned for the day and what else we might shoot weather dependent. The day as usual at these type of events went quickly, however, Dave was willing to explain setups snd variations and allows you to move light so you can experiment to see different results. He also  answers any questions you have however trivial and certainly does not clock watch.

The model he had organised, Ceilidh, was fabulous, she was very patient while things were explained and enthusiastic when shooting. Dave’s lighting and Ceilidh’s modelling gave me fantastic images from the day.

I cannot wait to put these new skills into practice in my own photography and would recommend anyone slightly unsure of lighting or just wants to learn a slightly different approach to lighting to take one of Dave’s courses.

The lighting workshop was fantastic!

Dave's communication before during and after was excellent and his knowledge and skills are second to none. Dave took the time to find out what I wanted to learn and get out of the workshop and made sure that it achieved those goals.

Dave's humour and laid back vibes make the course very relaxed and enjoyable, everything from the model choice (thanks Hayleigh) to the location is absolutely perfect and I have learnt so much that I plan on implementing in my photography.

I'll be booking another workshop in the future for sure.

A truly engaging few hours at Dave’s latest course. It’s a break from the norm free flowing with a very relaxed style that makes you think about breaking the rules and constraints of typical studio work.

Enjoyed a great afternoon with Dave providing tuition and lighting ideas. Very relaxed atmosphere with like minded people and fantastic model. Would definitely recommend.
